Vaux le Vicomte

Le 31 novembre nous sommes allé à un château qui s'appelle Vaux le Vicompte! J'ai reçu l'ordre de plus écrire et pas seulement publié des images donc voilà un peu d'information de le château! (En anglais parce que j'ai pas envie de passer tout l'après-midi essayer de trouver des mots en français...) (and I may have looked up some information on Wikipedia)

The was built by Nicolas Fouquet who lived at the same time and worked together with King Louis XIV (~1650). The construction was a colaboration between an architect, a painter and a landscape architect called André Le Nôtre. He is very famous in France. Except from designing the park of Vaux le Vicompte, he has also designed the ones belongning to Fontainebleau and most famously Versaille. He redesigned Versaille's park after doing Vaux le Vicompte, because the king couldn't stand thet the most beautiful castle in France didn't belong to him.

We choose to visit the castle this specific day because it was a "commémoration" of the second world war. A lot of people were dressed up in clothes typical from that time period. During the war the castle opened their doors for wounded soldiers (like in Downton Abbey!). I am a big fan historical things like this. To quote Emily: "Tu aimes des livres vieux, des bateaux vieux et tu aimes ton chat- tu aimes tout qui est vieuw!" (my cat became 21 years old).

On a commencé avec l'intèrieure.

Emily et moi avons eu un concours: qui trouvera le plus portes cachés. (Hidden passages through the walls)

Après nous sommes allé tout en haut du château. La vue était trop belle!

Il faisé chaud aussi, on a eu de la chance!

Ils ont mis des grands coquelicots (poppies) dans le jardin, le symbol pour la mémoire de la guerre.

On a acheté des billets pour un théatre! 2 hommes ont raconté l'histoire de la prémière guerre mondiale. Pour moi c'etait un peu dur de comprend mais apparement c'etait très bien fait.
